Food Poisoning Attacks 32 Vietnamese Workers in Japan Firm

As many as 32 workers of Japan’s Nissey Co., Ltd based in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7 were hospitalized due to food poisoning late Sept 30, the Cong An Nhan Dan newspaper reported Oct 1. The victims suffered symptoms of stomachache, dizzy, vomiting, and diarrhea after having lunch with pork and bitter melon at the firm’s canteen on the same day. Local health taskforces took the food sample, medical waste for testing to find the poisoning cause. The firm’s canteen reportedly got the certificate of food safety and hygiene. Vietnam recorded 109 food poisoning cases between Jan and Sept, affecting 4,100 people and killing 37 others, the General Statistics Office said.
