Food Poisoning Kills 37 Vietnamese in January - October

Vietnam has reported 122 food poisoning cases between Jan and Oct, affecting 4,500 people and killing 37 others, the General Statistics Office said. In Oct, the country recorded 13 cases with 407 affected people, the office added. The Ministry of Health is speeding up the setup of national standards on food additives as part of efforts to cope with the problem. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that the Southeast Asian country loses VND340 billion ($17.44 million) from food poisonings yearly. (GSO Oct Edition)
