Germany to Help Vietnam Preserve Cultural Heritages

The German Foreign Office and German Conservation Restoration & Education Projects (GCREP) have cooperated to publish books and discs on cultural heritage preservation in Vietnam. The move aims to help the country conserve famous relics, including An Dinh palace in Hue citadel recognized by the UNESCO, the Lao Dong newspaper quoted Paul Weinig, deputy head of GI Hanoi, as saying.  The works will be introduced at the Hanoi-based Goethe Institut (GI) May 6.  On the same day, the GI will hold an exhibition on German-into-Vietnamese books, the first of its kind so far.  The above-mentioned events are among a series of activities to mark the year “Deutschland in Vietnam 2010” held by the German embassy and authorized agencies.
