Hanoi Oks VND214B Project to Upgrade Water Supply System

Authorities of Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi have approved a VND214 billion project to upgrade a clean water supply system in Ha Dong district beginning this year, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported June 23. Under the project, Ha Dong Water Supply Co. will build the booster pumping station No. 3 with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters a day and water reception system from the Da River. The project is slated for completion in 2012, the newspaper added. Hanoi targets to provide clean water for locals in all areas in the inner city in 2010 and the water use demand for daily life is forecast to increase 10%-15% this year against 2009, general director of the Hanoi Clean Water Trading Co., Ltd Nguyen Nhu Hai said.
