Japan Grants $195,813 ODA to Vietnam Education Projects

Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City has agreed to provide a non-refundable aid worth $195,813 to two educational projects in Vietnam, state media reported Oct 22. The fund will comprise $91,367 for equipping Dinh Quan Vocational Center in the southern province of Dong Nai and $104,446 for building Hoa Thanh primary school in the central province of Ninh Thuan.  Earlier in Aug, Japan granted nearly $91,000 to build a primary school in the northeastern province of Hung Yen. In July, the Japanese government donated total $177,131 to primary school projects in the northeastern province of Nam Dinh and the central province of Ha Tinh. Japan is now the largest bilateral donor of Vietnam with roughly $16 billion committed to the country, accounting for one third of Vietnam’s pledged official development assistance (ODA).
