Japan Grants $96,000 to Build School in Central Vietnam

Japan will offer a non-refundable aid of nearly $96,000 to Vietnam’s central province of Thua Thien-Hue to build a primary school in Phu Hau ward. An agreement on the issue was signed between Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba and chairman of Phu Hau ward People’s Committee Mai Chi Minh in Hanoi on Oct 29, the Ha Noi Moi newspaper reported Friday. The school is expected to help study for children of floating villages along Huong and Dao rivers, who will move to the mainland under a resettlement plan to protect the two rivers from pollution.
