Japan Helps Northern Vietnam Manage Water Environment

Officials from the Vietnamese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency met with ten polluters in the northern provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan Oct. 29 to discuss a plan to manage the water environment of the Cau river basin. Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and JICA held the discussion under the framework of a project to manage the water environment of river basins in Vietnam, the Vietnam News Agency said Thursday. The officials emphasized the need to manage the water environment of the river as several factories, mining areas, craft villages, husbandry establishments, hospitals and residential areas are polluting the river.
