Japanese NGO to Fund $3.3M for Vietnam Northern Province

Save the Children Japan (SJC), Japan’s non-governmental organization, will provide VND61 billion ($3.3 million) for three projects in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai. The news was released at a meeting between a delegation from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba and provincial officials.  The projects aim to improve nutritional condition for children and build roads and irrigation works, the Vietnam News Agency said. During the stay in the province, the Japanese officials visited an industrial park and Vinaconex Yen Binh Cement Plant to discuss investment opportunities. The provincial Party Committee Secretary Hoang Xuan Loc called on Japanese firms to invest in the locality, particularly in infrastructure projects.
