JBIC to Continue Providing Loans for Vietnam

Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) will continue providing loans for Vietnam, Executive Director Fumio told Vietnamese Finance Minister Vu Van Ninh on April 27.
Mr. Fumio noted that JBIC will boost investments in the Asian region including Vietnam, pledging more funds for the construction of Haiphong border gate, Nghi Son oil refining project and Long Son oil refining project, the Voice of Vietnam Radio said. In the recent years, JBIC has provided loans for projects in Vietnam including Nghi Son thermal power plant, Phu My plant 2, Phu My plant 3 and Vinaconex cement plant, Fumio added. At the Consultative Group Meeting held in Hanoi on December 3-4 last year, Japan pledged to provide Vietnam with $1.64 billion in ODA this year.
