JICA Grants $3.8M to Develop Citrus Trees Cultivation in Mekong Delta

The five-year project, starting in 2009, aimed to train local cadres and farmers in Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Soc Trang and Tra Vinh provinces in sustainable cultivation of citrus trees, the Nong nghiep Viet Nam newspaper reported. The Mekong Delta region has around 80,000 hectares of citrus trees cultivation with 60,000 hectares of them are harvestable.
