Kon Tum Province Builds 869 Houses for Poor People

Authorities of Vietnam’s central highlands province of Kon Tum had built 869 houses for the poor after a one-year implementation of the government Resolution No. 30a/NQ-CP. Local authorities allocated nearly 20,000 hectares of forest to locals for protection and planting as well as sent 56 poor youth to work in the Southeast Asian countries during the same period. Vietnam targets to reduce the number of poor households to less than 9.5% this year, down from 11% in 2009.
