National Climate Change Research Advisor

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Viet Nam seeks a qualified National Climate Change Research Advisor (support to research on responding to climate change in Viet Nam)
The assignment aims to support several climate change research undertakings, on vulnerability and adaptation and on low carbon development options, with a stress on policy dimensions.
The priority policy research areas that should be supported include climate change and migration / resettlement, climate change & water, and climate change and food security.

Expected Outputs are:
1. Provide written and verbal inputs into the detailed design of different studies, including work plan, proposed analytical frameworks, main research questions, guidance for fieldwork, and the outline of research reports; partly based on critical review of national literature (approximately 10 days).
2. Provide written and verbal advice on research partnerships and field research, help initiate field research, and participate at the early and /or final stages of some field research (approximately 10 days).
3. Support the data analysis of some studies, peer review some of the draft reports and discussion papers (in writing and verbally), and edit (parts of) final draft reports and policy discussion papers, especially the Vietnamese versions (approximately 35 days)
4. Participate actively in some of the policy dialogues where research findings are presented (approximately 5 days)
