New Zealand to Help Vietnam Renewable Energy Development, Water Treatment

New Zealand is seeking to assist Vietnam in developing renewable energy, improving power generation, maintaining clean water supply, and cleaning polluted waterways to keep up with rapid industrial development, said New Zealand Trade Commissioner and Consul General to Vietnam Graham Sims.
Sims made the statement at a two-day seminar on green technology, clean energy and climate change beginning in Ho Chi Minh City on June 29, which was organized by New Zealand Consulate General in the metropolis, New Zealand Trade and Enterprises (NZTE) and the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment. New Zealand, which is famous for renewable energy, is expected to help Vietnam deal with increasing pollution and climate change, the Vietnam News Agency cited Nguyen Van Phuoc, deputy director of the department as saying June 30. During the seminar, six New Zealand clean-technology makers introduced sewage-to-fuel machines, software to assess climate change, as well as solutions for energy storage, green transportation, water and waste treatment, smart materials and sustainable agriculture. A similar workshop will be held in the central city of Danang on July 1-2 to promote the technologies.
