Dear Members and Friends: Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for 15 - 30 April 2010!
Next Thursday, April 22, the first INGO Forum of the year will be held from 03:00 PM until 05:00 PM at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. A detailed agenda will be sent to members through the mailing list in the next couple of days.
OFFICE SPACE TO SHARE: Australian Volunteers International (AVI) would like to relocate its office and is looking for other INGO that would have available space to share. Their needs are a) one enclosed or semi-enclosed work station; and b) two other work stations. AVI would be willing to share common areas such as the reception area, small meeting room, wash-room, kitchenette. Please contact Claude Potvin at <[email protected]> for more information.
There are three Working Group meetings to come in April and May: the Landmines Working Group will meet today, April 16 (02:00 PM) at the NGORC; the Disaster Management Working Group will meet on April 29 (02:00 PM) at the NGORC; and the Water Supply and Sanitation Working Group will meet on May 19 (02:00 PM) at the NGORC.
SEMINAR FOR NGOs
Microsoft is hosting a free one-day training seminar for NGOs in Hanoi on Tuesday, April 27 at the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, 1 Le Thanh Tong St, Hoan Kiem. Its title is 'Unleashing Technology to Improve Economic and Social Development'. The agenda includes sessions on: Microsoft programs that help NGOs achieve their goals, technology demonstrations, social networking, and managing relationships with donors and beneficiaries. It is not a technical event. The seminar is free and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
