NGOs Allocate $1.39M to Vinh Phuc Province

The northern province of Vinh Phuc has received almost $1.39 million in aid from 21 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international cooperation agencies to implement charity projects in 2008-2009. These organizations, including MCC, GEDA and Hands of Hope from the US, KFHI from the Republic of Korea and the Chinese organization AAF, have targeted their assistance towards agriculture, health care, education, environmental protection, the poor and disadvantaged and people living in mountain areas.  Their projects have already paid off, helping Vinh Phuc fulfill its socio-economic development targets. The province has recently set up a committee and begun a program to attract more aid from NGOs to put new projects into operation.
