OECD to Support Vietnam in Agriculture, Environment, Education: Mario Amano

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will send its experts to Vietnam this year to assist the country in agriculture, environment and education fields, said visiting OECD Deputy Secretary-General Mario Amano. Mario Amano made the statement during his talks with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan in Hanoi April 27, the Vietnamese government said on its website. The OECD delegations will give recommendations on the sustainable development in agriculture, assessment of human resources and competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy, Amano told the host. He also said the OECD would cooperate with ASEAN to build a report on the Southeast Asian region’s economic prospect and publish it late this year. The report will significantly support ASEAN lawmakers in seeking for measures to raise the competitive capacity, he noted. Vietnam as the current ASEAN chairman would be bridge linking the bloc and OECD, Amano said.
