Program Officer

Norwegian Red Cross (Norcross) has been assisting Vietnam Red Cross in 7 provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Vinh Phuc, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho and Thai Nguyen to implement the Capacity Building, Organizational development and Disaster Preparedness during 2002-2010. The new Disaster Risk Reduction Project will be implemented in Binhdinh and Phu Yen provinces during 2010-2012, with possible extension.

They are seeking one Program Officer for Norcross Office in Hanoi. The Program Officer will be engaged by the Norcross for the Project period, under the supervision of the Program Coordinator for Vietnam.
The PO’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing reports;
- Delivering technical support to Vietnam Red Cross;
- Filing; bookkeeping; translating document;
- Monitoring activities in the provinces;
- Following up administrative tasks;

Requirements
- Strong command of oral and written English;
- Ability to produce formal reports, media materials; and to facilitate trainings;
- Experience working for INGOs in Vietnam; particularly those related to Capacity Building, Organizational development and Disaster Management;
- Updated knowledge on Vietnam’s economic, social situation and humanitarian needs; on the work of Red Cross, NGOs and related Government Agencies.
