Project Coordinator Assistant

UCODEP is an Italian NGO working in North Vietnam since 2000, mainly focusing on rural development and primary health care. It is currently running a project to enhance health care and nutrition autonomy of the ethnic minorities in two mountainous communes in the province of Lao Cai.

Position: Project Coordinator Assistant
Location: Lao Cai province, Bat Xat District 70%; Hanoi 30%

Scope of work:
To assist the Project Coordinator and Project Officers in timely and effective project activities

Main task:
- Participate and contribute to the definition of project activities
- Ensuring the implementation of the Monthly Plan (activities and budget) prepared in cooperation with Project Officers and Project Coordinator
- Monitoring and supervision of the Community health motivators’ activities
- Assist project officers to assess quality of community intervention
- Facilitating in organizing and preparing training courses
- Planning and supervision of the monitoring of the project activities and of service contracts
- Mantain a positive relationship with project partners and government bodies
- Translating documents from Vietnamese to English and vice versa and support to edit project documents.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social science, development or economics,
- Experience in project planning and implementation
- Good facilitation/training skills and communication skills,
- Good computer skills (word processing, excel and power point),
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, to exercise judgment, to meet deadlines and to work under pressure,
- Willingness to work at the project sites (Lao Cai district),
-  Strong written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
