Project Officer

Save the Children in Vietnam (SC) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention; Care and support; Education; Child protection; Child-focused emergency preparedness and response; Child rights agenda, including Civil society development, Economic opportunities, Child poverty Research, and Advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.
Vacancy: Project Officer - HIV/AIDS. Based in HoChi Minh City

They are now seeking a qualified Vietnamese national to fill in the position of Project Officer for project “iBCC: A comprehensive approach to empowering social norms in Vietnam”.

Job purpose:
The Project Officer will provide technical support to outreach workers in universities in HCMC and Can Tho to effectively implement an HIV prevention project for young people. This role will entail providing proactive and positive support supervision to outreach workers to improve performance and achieve results, collecting, preparing and submitting monthly reports and data and assisting with activity documentation efforts.

Person specifications:
- BA Degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., social sciences, public health or marketing.
- At least 3 years of experience implementing and monitoring HIV prevention for young people.
- Previous working experience in progressive, youth-centered approaches to HIV prevention highly desirable.
- Proven capacity to build and maintain effective partnerships with provincial and local partners.
- Collaborative work experience with HCMC Provincial AIDS Committee is an asset.
- Ability to work, make decisions and co-ordinate in a team-orientated, consultative manner across multiple programme/thematic sectors.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Proven budget management skills and experience.
- English language skills.
- Good computing skills (word processing, spread sheets, email).
