Project Officer

Save the Children in Vietnam (SC) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.  The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention; Care and support; Education; Child protection; Child-focused emergency preparedness and response; Child rights agenda, including Civil society development, Economic opportunities, Child poverty Research, and Advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.

Save the Children (SC) is responding to the impacts of Typhoon Ketsana in Quang Tri Province.  SC will be targeting vulnerable children and families with an integrated food security and livelihoods, nutrition/health, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and education programme.

They are now seeking for a qualified Vietnamese national to fill in the position of short-term education project officer based in Quang Tri

Job Purpose
Project Officer is responsible for ensuring effective project implementation and achieving project objectives of the Child Friendly Libraries project in Quang Tri. The responsibilities include project design and planning, financial management, and partner activities management.

Person specifications:
- University degree, preferably with Bachelors degree in education, libraries management, social science or relevant fields
- 3 years experience in education project implementation with proven track record developing and managing budgets
- Good training skills and ability to organise and coordinate complex activities
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent English and Vietnamese written and oral communication skills
- Good experience in working with government counterparts and community 
- Computer literacy
- Commitment to Convention of the Right of the Child
- Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods.
