Regional HR Manager

Regional HR Manager
£Competitive  + accommodation + benefits
Bangkok, Thailand

Their programmes in East Asia help millions of people and deal with everything from building women’s economic leadership in the Philippines, working with local government in Cambodia and building resilience to natural disasters in Indonesia. But to get that support where it’s needed most, we need committed staff led by a strong HR Department. And leading our regional HR team, you’ll make it even stronger.

The role:
Based in Bangkok, you’ll have an overview of HR for the whole of East Asia, developing strategy that not only has a huge effect on your region, but could impact the whole of Oxfam and their partners. You’ll continually lead and improve their HR function, making sure they get the most out of their resources, whilst also contributing and advising on change management - developing and shaping the region to be as effective as it can be. As a member of  a high performing Regional Management Team, you will influence and advise other senior staff and partners, ensuring that they continue to work together to achieve our goals for the region. And you’ll also lead and support the HR teams in the event of a humanitarian rapid onset emergency, supporting teams to develop their own leadership and management capabilities.

What they’re looking for
An HR professional, you’ll have a track record of both strategic and operational success, ideally in the Asia region, plus either a qualification or the extensive experience to back it up. That means you’ll have the know-how to provide HR advice while taking our long-term needs into account as well as a proven ability to deliver change and develop organisations. You’ll be confident influencing and advising senior management, making sure HR is considered at all levels and analysing ways to better our policy and how we apply it. It’s a complex role, with multiple projects to prioritise and deliver, so you’ll need to be flexible in your approach and able to solve problems both creatively and pragmatically. And with experience leading HR teams across several countries, you’ll be sensitive to diversity and gender in different cultural environments.
