SaigonTech to Spend $400M to Build Hospital in May

Ho Chi Minh City-based Saigon Institute of Technology (SaigonTech) will invest more than $400 million to build a hospital in Vung Tau City in May. Located on a site of 4 hectares, the 500-sickbed hospital will have 22 wards to treat cancer, brain and cardiovascular diseases, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te Sai Gon online newspaper reported Mar. 15. Once operational in 2012, the hospital is expected to apply modern technology to treat patients, the newspaper said, adding that it will allow foreign experts to perform telemedicine services.  In 2010, the Southeast Asian country will spend VND50 trillion ($2.62 billion) or 8.6% of the total state budget for the health sector.
