JOB ANNOUNCEMENT – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
The University of North Carolina in Vietnam is a research organization of the University of North Carlina at Chapel Hill, USA. Our missions are conducting clinical research of new treatment methods for HIV prevention, TB treatment, mental health in both treatment and behavior changes for people living with HIV, TB patients, men who have sex with men and people who inject drugs. Our partners are Hanoi Medical University, Hospitals in Hanoi, Provincial CDCs nationwide. We are conducting clinical trials of HIV/AIDS Prevention Trial Network (HPTN) and AIDS Clinical Trial Group (ACTG).
We are now seeking a talented, dedicated and committed individual to join our team with the position of Senior Accountant working at UNC Vietnam Office in Hanoi.
Position: Senior Accountant
Based in Hanoi.
Report to: In-country Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent of this position is responsible for finance & accounting management, overseeing and controlling finance and accounting procedures for projects to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of financial management in UNC Vietnam office.
SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Payment management: Receive and check advance request and advance settlement, record and check payment in Misa software
- Debt management: Prepare and check debt reports for employees and partners and inform the bank accountant and finance manager about errors and differences
- Cash management: Prepare, send weekly payment list to the bank accountant and supervise cash fund inventory
- Salary allocation review: Check proposals on salary and bonus payment and review salary allocation in Misa software
- PIT payment: Check PIT payment request and review PIT declaration
- Finance & accounting management reporting: Report month-end data on cash & bank deposit; report partners and employees’ debts; reconcile account balances; prepare finance and accounting management reports; report and explain reported finance and accounting indicators.
- Perform other tasks as required by supervisor.
Required qualification and skills:
- BA in Accounting
- At least 5-year working experience related to accounting/finance
- Experience working with MISA accounting software
- Experience in debt and finance management
- Good English communication skills
