Social Project Officer
Médecins du Monde France (MDMF) is a French humanitarian organization. Operating in Vietnam since 1989, MDMF provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS services, ranging from prevention, VCT, to treatment, care and support, and OVC programs in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
They are seeking a qualified and experienced Vietnamese candidate for the position of Social Project Officer (SPO), HCMC-based, starting in June 2010. Salary is based on competencies and competitive to other international NGOs.
Main Responsibility:
The main duty of the Social Project Officer – Support is to provide technical support to partners to ensure the implementation of the related activities within the different components of the programme in the site.
The post holder also works in collaboration with the Social Project Officer – Outreach and Prevention and Medical Project Officer for task related to Palliative Care, who support each other across the range of social activities under the programme.
In addition, the SPO should participate in team and project meetings.
Required education, skills and qualities:
- The successful candidate should have a B.A degree (social science, development).
- High sense of creativity and organization;
- Strong critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Good interpersonal communication and negotiation skills;
- Management skills focusing on participation, consensus-building & delegation;
- Talent in negotiating and dealing with practical issues;
- Analytical report writing skills;
- Computer proficiency in Word & Excel, and graphics software, knowledge of internet;
- Good skills in supporting community to face stigma and discrimination;
- Excellent oral and written Vietnamese and English.
- At least 3 years of relevant working experiences.
- Knowledge or working experiences with the Government and with the international NGO is strongly preferred.
