Sweden Pledges $11M for Vietnam Poverty Reduction Program

Sweden pledged to grant $11 million to a poverty reduction program in the second phase in Vietnam from now up to 2011, state media reported. Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Rolf Bergman and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Cao Viet Sinh signed an agreement on the aid in Hanoi on Nov. 30 on the occasion of the 40th bilateral diplomatic ties. The program will be carried out in the northern province of Ha Giang and in the central province of Quang Tri to assist human resource development.
