Technical Training Manager
Abt Associates Inc. is seeking a candidate for a full time position on its USAID-funded TASC3 Avian Influenza Vietnam project aims to strengthen Vietnam’s public and private capacities to prevent, rapidly detect, and respond to avian and pandemic influenza (API) and other zoonotic threats; and to begin preparing for a possible human influenza pandemic.
The Training Manager’s activities include:
- Lead development of a project-wide training plan to incorporate all project components and address the training process, from needs assessment to evaluation.
- Adapt or develop training of trainers curriculum and modules focused on training skills
- Adapt or develop training curriculum and modules community based surveillance, infection control, case management, animal health workers, agicultural extension workers, biosecurity, and behavior change communication. Trainings will be for both human and animal health workers and care providers.
- Faciliate and supervise field trainings
- Ensure training materials and modules developed using appropriate research and most up-to-date methodologies..
- Participate with the project team in collection and analysis of data, and in the development of the evaluation process and tools.
- Help the project team in interpretation and application of Vietnamese cultural norms as they apply to the training process.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in the field of public health, animal health, or health education.
- 4 to 6 years work experience in primary health care training, or other relevant field.
- Relevant experience includes health training, research, survey design, and evaluation.
- Superior writing, research, and presentation skills.
- Ability to convey highly technical material in a clear manner to a non-technical audience.
- Able to produce results within tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English required
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Internet resources.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills.
