Tra Vinh Spends VND500B to Build Houses for the Poor

The southern province of Tra Vinh has so far spent VND500 billion to build houses for poor families, the Nhan Dan newspaper reported. Of the sum, VND36 billion was loaned by the Bank for Social Policies, the newspaper noted. The province has 27,317 poor households, including 12,186 Khmer families, who will be supported under a VND651.5 billion housing-support project, said the provincial Department of Construction.  The project is slated for completion by 2010.
