U.K. Helps Hold Saola Preservation Conference in Vietnam City

U.K. Cambridge University and Darwin Foundation joined hands with Vietnam’s central province of Nghe An-based Vinh University to hold a conference to preserve saola and other endemic hoofed mammals on Mar. 15. The two-day event drew participations of hundreds of foreign and domestic scientists, the Quan Doi Nhan Dan newspaper reported Mar. 18. The conference focused on specifying their living placed and discussed ways to preserve biological diversifications, especially for saola. Saola (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis), is on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List as “critically endangered”,  live in remote valleys of the range along the border between Vietnam and Laos.  Saola was found in the central province of Ha Tinh-based Vu Quang National Park in 1992, the newspaper added.
