UN Funds $4.6M for Climate Change Project in Vietnam

The United Nations (UN) has funded more than $4.6 million to a project to improve the capabilities of three Vietnamese provinces and cities in responding to climate change, reducing vulnerability and controlling Green House Gas emissions, state media reported. The Vietnamese Ministries of Natural Resources and Environment, and Agricultural and Rural Development have carried out the project in Can Tho city and Binh Thuan and Binh Dinh provinces between 2008 and 2012. The project’s management board and the Can Tho city’s department of natural resources and environment yesterday co-held a conference to discuss propaganda strategies on climate change.  Vietnam is listed among the world’s five hardest-hit climate change countries.
