U.S. Chevron to Grant $300,000 to Support Vietnam Poor Women

The U.S.-based Chevron Company will grant $300,000 to the Save the Children Foundation to implement a project to support 500 poor women in Can Tho City and Ca Mau province to develop small businesses. Chevron and Save the Children officials signed an agreement in Hanoi on Nov. 9, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website Tuesday. The project, entitled “Vietnamese rural women adapt to the market economy”, aims to introduce new business habits to women who run small businesses and raise domesticated animals in rural areas.
The project will also provide women with more opportunities to access financial services and help them get acquainted with market-oriented business models.
