U.S. Helps Train 35 Vietnamese Spinal Orthopaedics Doctors

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is providing a week-long training course on spinal orthopaedics for 35 Vietnamese doctors between May 14 and 21. This is part of a professional development program between the Vietnam Orthopaedics Association and the AAOS in the 2009-2011 period, the state-run Vietnam News Agency said. During the course, which will last until May 21, AAOS experts will give diagnosis and treatment for 30 patients with spinal column diseases and conduct free-of-charge surgeries on five children with backbone deformities.
