Vacancies at Save the Children

Save the Children in Vietnam (SC) works to promote every child’s rights to survival, protection, participation and development as set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.  The current programme focuses on the following core sectors: Health and Nutrition; HIV/AIDS prevention; Care and support; Education; Child protection; Child-focused emergency preparedness and response; Child rights agenda, including Civil society development, Economic opportunities, Child poverty Research, and Advocacy for child-friendly development policy and practice.

Save the Children is responding to the needs of communities affected by Typhoon Ketsana in Vietnam.  They’re already responding by distributing urgently needed food and essential household and hygiene items.  We will soon be supporting communities to recover with livelihoods activities for families, improving access to healthcare and nutrition, providing hygiene education, improving access to water/sanitation and helping to ensure children are able to continue their education.  Our activities will transition into our ongoing programmes in these areas.

They are now seeking for qualified Vietnamese nationals to fill in the following positions based in Quang Tri:
1. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene  Officer
2. Food Security & Livelihoods Officer
3. Health/Hygiene Promotion Officer
4. Programme Assistant
5. inance and Admin Assistant  

Person specifications for Officers:
- University degree preferably with Bachelors degree in social science or relevant field
- At least 2 years of work experience preferably in health, livelihood or emergencies sector
- Good English skills
- Experience in working with government counterparts and community 
- Excellent communication skills, and team work
- Ability and willingness to travel for a long time to the disaster prone areas.

Person specifications for Assistants:
- University degree
- At least 1 year of work experience in admin, programme or finance sector
- Enthusiasm, hard working
- Good English
- Competent in working with partners at local level
- Good communication skills, and team work
- Ability and willingness to travel for a long time to the disaster prone areas.
