Vietnam Authority Starts WB-funded Packages Worth $14M

The Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration has started the World Bank (WB)-funded packages worth $14 million to upgrade a 60-kilometer waterway linking An Giang with Dong Thap in Mekong Delta region. The administration plans to finish upgrading the waterway within 24 months, the Thoi bao Kinh te newspaper reported. The WB has provided Vietnam with $10.4 billion in soft loans for 93 programs and projects since 1993. This year, the WB pledged $2.498 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam.
