Vietnam, Canada Firms to Build Int’l Cancer Treatment Hospital

Simco Song Da Joint Stock Company (SDA), an affiliate of Song Da Corporation, and Canadian partners plan to build a five-star international cancer treatment hospital in Vietnam. This is part of plans that the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX)-listed firm will implement in the first quarter of this year, the company said in a statement. SDA expects to make a pretax profit of VND42.9 billion ($2.3 million) in 2010, up 7.78% from a year earlier. Vietnam is estimated to identify 150,000 to 200,000 new cancer patients a year and report 100,000 deaths by the disease, statistics from the Ministry of Health showed.
