Vietnam Central Province Needs VND780M to Discard Toxic Pesticides

Authorities in Vietnam’s central province of Phu Yen said they need VND780 million ($2.4 million) to discard thousands kilograms of forbidden pesticides, the Ha Noi Moi newspaper reported Jan. 11. The useless pesticides including a warehouse in Hoa Kien 3 commune, more than 900kg of a very toxic Falizan and other pesticides in Son Thanh cooperative and in Hoa Thang commune need to be buried carefully to prevent pollution. These pesticides are very toxic, containing lead and are no longer permitted for spraying to avoid affecting human health and environment.
