Vietnam Central Province Sets up Climate Change Research Center

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue has decided to establish a climate change research center under Hue University, the Lao dong newspaper reported Jan. 11. The center will carry out studies on adapting and mitigating the impacts of climate change, organize short-term courses and build a climate change research network. Vietnam is listed among five hardest-hit by climate change countries. If sea levels rise by one meter, 38% of the country’s delta and coastal areas will be submerged, causing a serious impact on the life, society and food security of Vietnam as well as the world.
