Vietnam Detects 1,628 New HIV Cases in March

The Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC) under the Ministry of Health said that 1,628 new cases of HIV infection were detected across the country in Mar, up 27.5% against Feb. In March, 533 AIDS developers and 225 deaths of the disease are recorded, the Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper cited the VAAC.  Since the first HIV case was detected in 1990, Vietnam has so far identified more than 156,802 people with HIV. The deadly virus now spreads to 70% of communes, wards and 97% of districts in 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
