Vietnam Education Ministry, British Council Hold IELTS Contest in January

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the British Council would cooperate to organize the test of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) from this month.
Because the IELTS test is mainly held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, contestants who are living far from the cities can send the registration documents via email or post offices, the Vietnamese Government said on its website Jan 20.
The contestants would have a chance to attend an e-training course called Road to IELTS before joining the test, it added.
Introduced in 1989, the Academic IELTS test is necessary for students who plan to study abroad. The IELTS certificate is recognized all over the world, including the U.S.
According to the British Council, the certificate is now recognized in more than 2,000 schools in the U.S. and 4,700 others in countries worldwide.
