Vietnam Firm Begins Building Student Dormitory Complex in Da Lat City

Construction JS Company No. 5 under the Ministry of Construction started to build a student dormitory complex worth VND778 billion ($42.1 million) in Vietnam’s Central Highlands city of Da Lat on Dec 7. Covering an area of 30.2 hectares, the complex will comprise 33 blocks of three -nine storeys, parking lots, sports centers and other service facilities, the Vietnamese Government said on its website Dec 8. Once the first phase of the project is completed in 2014, around 20,000 students will get accommodations. At present, only 3,000 students in Da Lat have accommodations at dormitories, accounting for 7% of the total number of local students.  In the next six years, 65,000 students in the city are expected to need accommodations.
