Vietnam Govt Acts to Deal with Climate Change

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment have co-held a meeting to discuss measures to cope with climate change. Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen reviewed Vietnam’s working results at the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen and introduced ongoing projects to fight climate change. The two ministers agreed to set up a team to implement activities to prevent natural disasters, waterlog for big cities nationwide and Mekong Delta region and call for international aids. The ministers also approved contents of a land management plan.  Vietnam is listed among five hardest-hit by climate change countries.
