Vietnam Grants 3,522 Scholarships for Ethnic Students Since 2008

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) have granted 3,522 scholarships to students in ethnic minority regions since 2008, the Van hoa newspaper reported on June 9, without giving the total sum of the scholarships. The MoET will continue providing 1,478 scholarships for these students in 2010-2011 academic year. The move is part of the MoET’s education project, which started in 2007 and is expected to extend until 2012, to improve abilities for teachers and grant scholarships to students in ethnic regions.
