Vietnam Holds Asia-Pacific Conference on Parliamentary Role in AIDS Fight

Vietnam’s National Assembly and the International Parliament Union (IPU) co-organized an Asia-Pacific conference on strengthening parliaments’ role in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Hanoi Dec 10.  The two-day conference attracted the participation of parliamentarians from the IPU’s member nations, the IPU consulting group on HIV/AIDS and representatives of international organizations, the Hanoi Moi newspaper Dec 11. Participants discussed the real situation of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region, the role of law-makers in creating more programs and services on anti-HIV/AIDS for vulnerable groups.
