Vietnam Honors French Ambassador for Education Contributions

The French Ambassador to Vietnam, Herve Bolot, on Jan 19 was bestowed with the insignia “for the cause of education” in recognition of his great contributions to Vietnam’s education sector.
Over the past two years, Ambassador Bolot has worked closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, taking an active part in the implementation of educational cooperation programs between Vietnam and France, the Quan Doi Nhan Dan newspaper reported Wednesday.
Herve Bolot has also worked with Vietnamese agencies to carry out a number of educational projects to build French University centers at the Hanoi National University and the Ho Chi Minh City National University, to build a French-Vietnamese Management Education Center (CFVG) and to develop a high quality engineer training program (PFIEV).
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan appreciated Ambassador Bolot’s contributions during his working term in Vietnam, hoping that Vietnam and France will continue to strengthen friendship and cooperation, especially in the education and training sector in the future.
Vietnam now ranks the second in Asia in terms of sending students to France. About 6,000 Vietnamese students are learning there.
Governments of Vietnam and France are actively promoting a cooperation program to train 2,000 Vietnamese PhDs in the future.
