Vietnam Hospital Pilots $1.6M Hi-tech Cancer Treatment System

Vietnam’s Kien Giang Provincial General Hospital piloted the hi-tech linear accelerator system that is used in radiation therapy for cancer treatment costing $1.6 million on April 26. This is the first hi-tech radiation system in the Mekong Delta region, which is expected to officially operate in May, the Nhan dan newspaper reported. The system, consisting of a simulation machine and a linear accelerator produced by Siemens AG, is part of a project implemented by Forincons Invest JSC and the hospital.
