Vietnam Ministry Working on New Regulation on Rice Exports

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade is preparing a draft degree, requesting rice exporters obtain its rice export license before their trading activities. The draft stated that local enterprises have the right to export rice if they meet all requirements which are having at least one warehouse with minimum capacity of 5,000 tons and milling facility with minimum capacity of 10 tons per hour. Those companies which have at least 50% of stockpile are eligible to sign export contracts, the MOIT said. Rice exporters are also required to register export contracts to the Vietnamese Food Association.
