Vietnam Online Dialogue on Tertiary Education Reform to Open Mar 6

The Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) will hold an online dialogue on the national tertiary education reform in the 2010-2012 period on Mar 6. The event, which will be chaired by Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thien Nhan, will be broadcast live in six localities, namely Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Danang, Can Tho and HCM City, the Tien Phong newspaper reported March 5.
The dialogue will focus on building universities and colleges, student dormitories and improving tertiary education quality. Under Prime Minister’s new circular on tertiary education management reform, all low-quality universities will be closed. Vietnam now has 376 universities and colleges. It targets to have one university placed among the world’s top 200 universities by 2020.
