Vietnam Province Operates WB-funded Clean Water Supply System

Vietnam’s northern province of Hai Duong has put into operation a clean water supply system funded by the World Bank (WB), the Nhan Dan newspaper reported May 31. This facility, totaling VND13.5 billion of which the WB contributes VND12 billion, is part of a WB-funded project on rural water supply and environmental sanitation. The system will provide 1,500 cubic meters of water a day to 14,000 locals in two communes of Nhan Quyen and Co Bi in Binh Giang district. The province has provided clean water for residents in 29 communes and targets to help 85% of its rural residents gain access to clean water this year.
