Vietnam Province Reviews $1M France-funded Clean Water Project

Vietnam’s northern province of Bac Kan yesterday held a conference to review rural environmental sanitation and clean water project totaling $1 million granted by the French Red Cross Society (FRCS). FRCS Chairman Jean Francois Mattei, who was on visit to Vietnam between Jan. 23-25, attended the conference. These projects have so far helped 5,700 people in the province’s Pac Nam and Ba Be districts gain access to clean water and improved public awareness of environmental sanitation. The FRCS-funded projects have not only benefited local people but also helped to ensure sustainable development in the province, the authorities said.
