Vietnam Province Starts $7.7M AFD-Funded Water Supply Projects

Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long started to implement three projects costing VND142 billion ($7.7 million) to supply clean water for urban dwellers on Nov. 26. Of the total, the French Development Agency (AFD) has funded VND95 billion ($5.1 million) to the three projects, the Vietnam News Agency said Friday. The projects, which aim to build an additional two water supply plants and to increase the capacity of the Truong An water plant, are slated for completion in 2011. They are part of the EUR32 million water supply program financed by the AFD for six Mekong Delta provinces by 2013.
