Vietnam Province Starts Building $43.64M Obstetric & Paediatric Hospital

Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang June 7 began the construction of an obstetric and pediatric hospital worth VND830 billion ($43.64 million) from g-bond in the presence of a member of the Vietnamese Politburo Truong Tan Sang. Covering nearly 40,000 square meters in Soc Trang City, the 15-storey hospital will have 400 sickbeds, the province said on its website June 8. The work is slated to become operational in late 2013, the newspaper added. Vietnam now has 13,600 state and private-owned hospitals with 172,500 sickbeds.
